Adapted for the stage from the Leacock Medal winning book by author Mark Leiren-Young, directed and dramturged by T. J. Dawe (hot off his acclaimed solo show Medicine) this new comedy is a collection of true tales from B.C’s real-life wild west and follows the adventure of a big (Vancouver) boy who arrives in a real life cowboy town (Williams Lake) with the highest crime rate in B.C.and discovers stranger news, quirkier characters and better friends than he could ever have imagined. Zachary Stevenson stars in this amazing one man show.

About The Haida Gwaii Arts Council

The Haida Gwaii Arts Council is a volunteer organization that encourages the development of visual and performing art, literary and other cultural activities.

  • We coordinate public funds for the arts and work to increase and broaden opportunities for Islands residents in the arts.
  • We liaise with local groups, coordinate workshops and encourage the development of original art on the Islands.
  • We support events such as the Haida Gwaii Coffeehouse Series and the Edge of the World Music Festival.
  • We collaborate with other Islands organizations, such as the Haida Gwaii Museum, with a view to further artistic expression on Haida Gwaii.
